Ark

"Ark" was an filmmaker Craig Bass' entry into the 2016 Cinespace film competition, hosted by NASA. Craig asked me to join the team initially not as an artist, but to help produce the piece. This was a fantastic opportunity, as I had never produced a film before! What resulted was a crash course in independent filmmaking, allowing me to get my hands into everything from scheduling and logistics, to set design and construction, to working with the film's talent. It was also my first time working in visual effects, as I was asked during post-production to assist with rotoscoping footage. I was even able to lend my artistic abilities to the production in creating the drawings that the female lead, Nadia, hangs up in her space bedroom. But, perhaps most interesting of all, was working with one of the furry co-stars of the film: Lucien, the Capuchin monkey!
